Now that we finally have the breeding chooks that I've wanted, we're launching into breeding season. Excess roosters notwithstanding... so far we have 6 hatched (5 surviving chicks) under one surrogate mother, and 4 hatched chicks, 2 eggs remaining under the other.
Next up, hopefully will be goslings, as after one aborted attempt at setting earlier on, she's finally got the idea!
Having now also got 3 or 4 other settings of eggs ready to go, patiently waiting for more clucky chooks (preferably of the silkie variety, or anything... other than the Dorking who is barking mad and hopeless with chicks!)
