Stuff and work

We've been busy again - not on the pergola which was started, and then I got distracted. Luckily no tomatoes were planted out in early November - I had them ready in the hothouse but dithered a bit in early November, laughingly because of tales of killer frosts. So we got a fortnight of February weather - over 35 most days, stinking dry, hot, windy February weather. So the tomato plants stayed tucked up in the hot house. But once things settled down - and we've now had some rain, we needed to get sorted for planting them out.

And the dry hot wind is definitely one of our major problems, so down tools on the pergola and move to a shadecloth fenced area to break up the wind tunnel made by the powerline clearing. Add a front wire fence and a couple of raised beds (Andy helped us fill them the other weekend), and we've got a new veg area:

While we were at it - the old strawbale / tomato bed trick - I've got a couple more of these to build.

But because you can't get away without a baby animal photo - look at how much these guys have grown:

With Mum alone - you can see how hard it is to pick boys from girls still:

But we think this might be a good indication of sister (on the left) and brother (on the right).... but we're guessing.
