I remember the day we took possession of this place and we both looked at each other and said "needs painting". I wish we'd just slapped up lots of paintings
Mind you, the results are slowly starting to look very very good so I guess we should stop sooking and keep plodding along.
We headed up again this weekend to do more painting and hopefully get started with the flooring - which we achieved. We also put the new bamboo blinds up to get rid of those bloody awful curtains.
(We haven't finished painting the top of the walls in here - ran out of ceiling paint for the cornices which I'll have to get this week.)
We also came up with the bright idea of doing this at around 10.00pm on Saturday night - so the photos are a little dark as it was around 1.00am before we finished.

And for a change of pace - this end of the house had no floor coverings at all - just the yellow-tongue boards which had been roughly painted so:
(I know we were talking about vinyl earlier but lordy, the price of vinyl! And we got this floating floor on sale).
And to show that we did a tiny bit more than paint and floor, this is the very very small bedroom that we're going to be using for pantry / kitchen storage:
And with the shelving in place:
Now the only member of the family that approached this weekend with any sense of decorum and didn't get soaking wet, or totally cream crackered:
was a lot more comfortable this weekend - she didn't spend quite so much time gazing hopefully at the car, and she seemed a little more settled. Doesn't mean she didn't make a bee-line for her hammock bed back at The Patch when we returned, and she hasn't really moved much since
