Birds Spied

I really need to make a note of all the birds that we're seeing.

Firstly there's the resident Superb Blue Wren and his female - he's a very busy boy and is always around the house.

There are the lorikeets (which we're currently guessing are Musk Lorikeets but we've got to get a better bird book out of a box so we can confirm that).

There's the heron down at the dam and the masked plovers. There are heaps of Magpie Larks. There are Sulphur Crested Cockatoos, Black Ducks, Corellas (I think they are the long-billed ones), Kookaburras, Eagles and all sorts of Hawks / Kites (haven't got the binoculars up there yet so not sure which ones they are), Swallows everywhere nesting in the sheds and the back deck (they might be the Welcome Swallows), then there are wattlebirds that call all the time, as well as a few other birds that are calling I've not been able to identify yet. There's also a largish flock of White-Winged Chough's who work the paddocks and the orchard area looking for food - they are magnificent and great fun to watch.

Oh and lots of sparrows - but no sign of Common Myna's yet.
