Gryphon Tailes 4

Yesterday got a little traumatic as Gryph lost control of his bowels a number of times, often when he least expected it, which distressed him somewhat. We did find that if we took him out and simply wandered slowly around for a while, we could get to the point that he would go, albeit still without much warning for him.

Overnight we didn't have anywhere near the issues of previous nights. Using the delay until something happens technique at 2:00am we then had only one more outing at 6:00am. Sometime after that it appears Gryphon took himself out for a normal bowel movement, which is encouraging.

We have heard back from a dog chiropractor who will come to us for an assessment. It was encouraging that they said they couldn't fix anything but may be able to support Gryph and ease some of the symptoms. My experience with chiropractors has always been positive (I too have spinal problems, but nothing like the severity of Gryphon's).

Our wonderful neighbours lent us some carpet offcuts to put down on our polished wood floors to provide some traction for Gryph, and this has added to his ability to move around. All in all I think we may be at least able to manage this until the inevitable.
