Yes, I know Tailes is not a word, but it was a humorous attempt to combine two relevant homonyms, tails and tales as this is the saga of my dog Gryphon and the problems with his tail end.
Last night was a bit of a trial, not a lot of sleep for me as Gryph was puffing and panting, in obvious discomfort. Partly this was due to him having consumed a huge bone I suspect, but I think he also overdid it yesterday. Finally figuring he could move about on his own went to his head.
He had a few incidents where I needed to put a sling around his belly and help him get up and stabilise him as he walked. He also seemed to have more problems with messages from his rear end reaching his brain as we had a few premature evacuations. I don't know what it is about Shepherds, but both the boys I've had have become very distressed if they soil inside the house, whereas our Aussie Terriers will do it just to spite you.
This morning, after medication, he has settled down and seems very comfortable, and has been out on his own a few times, so we may just have an adjustment period ahead of us.
At the moment we are looking at chiropractic as a support mechanism, not sure if it is going to do anything, but since I get a lot of relief out of it I figure it is worth a shot. Finding an animal chiropractor is the next challenge.
