The ruthless pirate Captain Kuro has had his disguise of Butler to Kaya's family exposed as his pirate mates terrorize Kaya's village. Usopp, the village liar and his young "pirate" friends help Luffy and his mates in defending the village.

There seems to be no end to the enemies to defeat and Luffy has to rely on his ability to stretch like rubber in order to battle with Kuro and save Usopp. Meanwhile Kuro's hypnotist first mate is trying to get Kaya to sign over her inheritance to Kuro. Usopp's young mates, Onion, Pepper and Carrot are all Kaya has to help defend herself so time is short if Usopp wants to save her.

Be prepared for a wild and hilarious, if somewhat confusing, ride. This is over the top Manga, with no holds barred. One of the best explanations of this series comes from the author himself in answer to a reader question on his use of the "Ta-dah!" sound effect, and why he didn't use "ba-bing" instead. He answers: "No. That wouldn't work. That just wouldn't work. When I write 'ta-dah!,' I draw with the feeling of 'ta-dah!' if I wrote 'ba-bing' I would end up drawing a 'ba-bing' kind of picture. Maybe that would work in a gag scene. Or maybe something like 'uh-huh'. No, it's entirely different."

There are a lot of "ta-dah!" moments in this piece, and "SHWOOM", and "KRAK" and "WHAM!!". But you have to read it to really understand why.
