Fairfax sells out to Microsoft?

I know, a little provocative, but it got your attention. Last week Vista was released with much fanfare in Australia. Big news items in most of the daily rags, and plenty of television and internet advertising. There was an incident, however, that demands that the question at least be asked.

I'm not saying that Fairfax doesn't have editorial integrity, or that they make editorial decisions based solely on the advertising revenue generated. That would be completely unfair. But Fairfax, the publisher of The Age and The Sydney Morning Herald, should at least explain why it was that the lead article in their technology section on OpenOffice.org that appeared in their two flagship papers on the date of the Vista launch are conspicuous by their absence from their online site.

You can find a scanned copy of the article on Creative Contingencies web site but an intensive search of the Fairfax sites yields no results.
