After discovering a number of significant bugs in the 2.1 release we've spent the weekend undertaking an extensive bug testing regime - which is still underway. Part of the reason for that is that we're running a series of test scripts over every component of the release - the bug reports being lodged at http://bugs.dotproject.net (Project - dotProject v2.x)
The 2.1 release on Sourceforge has been downgraded to a release candidate as, so far, there have been bugs identified which stop the system from performing at certain points.
We've discovered a number of bugs in our current testing as well that we've flagged as major - and resolutions of these, as well as all the other problems will be required before the branch can be retested again in preparation for another 2.1 release / candidate.
We're also in the process of fully documenting a completely new testing regime for releases - we're using Testlink to do that, but the documentation is taking a slightly lower priority than the actual testing so as to ensure that we don't hold up resolutions for the next release. Once we've completed loading all the test scripts into Testlink we'll be looking to implement some automated testing scripts as well as the functionality checks that will have to be done on a more regular basis.
