It's Raining Again.....

Nowhere near as much in QLD and NSW but we're certainly soggy enough in some places.

Yesterday there was a slight respite so we went out for Alpaca feed as we were running short and if it rains non-stop for the next couple of days I have no desire whatsoever to be on the roads.

We knew it had rained, but boy oh boy

Mountain Creek runs down from the Pyrenees through Moonambel and out across the Sunraysia Highway. Most of the time it's a bit of trickle. This is what it looked like yesterday - before we had a heap more rain today. (It's about 5 mins down the road from us).

Fiddler's Creek is a lovely bit of treelined road and we've often joked about where the creek actually is (you normally can't see anything much that looks like water). Yesterday the water was higher than the road on both sides.

Then we got to Avoca. This is a little roadside stop where we often walk the dogs. Or at least it is when it's not a lake.

This is from the main bridge just outside Avoca on the Sunraysia Highway:

In Avoca itself, this street normally heads down to the riverside park... another place I can pretty well guarantee we won't be walking the dogs for a while.

And all the way around - more rain threatened all day yesterday. We didn't get hit again until this morning, but there was a big band that went from just over us right through Maryborough and Kyneton.
