We've been talking about this pergola at the front of the house for a while and this heatwave has kinda made the job get a little more urgency - especially as we had to erect temporary shelters over the herb gardens when things started cooking!
So Adam started digging the holes for the posts the other day:
The ground was absolutely rock-hard so he decided to put some water in overnight and get back to it next day.
Only it got a bit complicated:
This frog's been climbing the windows every evening giving us an "interesting" view of his underbelly as he catches moths and things - but obviously a big damp hole was too much temptation:
Frog relocated to one of the dams and the footings for 4 of the posts are now in place with the concrete quietly curing. Now if it would just cool down a tad, the rest of the footings can go in.
