Just finished a very nice long weekend.
Started off with a highlight - visit from Andrew and Fiona, back from their travels. They joined us in the pub on Friday night for happy hour and then back here for dinner and a look at the wonderful photos from their last trip.
Up way too late, slow start on Saturday morning. Andrew and Fiona stayed until late in the afternoon before they headed back home (Andrew's back to work today).
Saturday evening was spent in the paddock watching the water flows around the top (non-functioning) dam whilst we sorted out a plan of attack for when the tractor and grader arrive. Did I mention he's won the argument and we've picked out the tractor - order to be placed next week, what with the planets aligning and the bank sorting out the paperwork.
Sunday was spent doing chores around the place and taking a run in the ute to see if the recycling place in Dunolly was open (he wasn't). So instead Adam spent some time planning a few other jobs and we had a bit of a lazy afternoon.
Did manage to put up some plastic over one end of the chook run so that they had a bit of protection from what's turned out to be a fantastically wet June.
Monday we thought about some chores, and played hookey instead. Drove over to Beaufort and then up to Halls Gap (forgot to take the blasted camera as usual). Pouring, bucketing hissing down rain most of the way! Stopped in Halls Gap for a short while - too many tourists - and then came home via Stawell. Himself off to the shed to start building the Chinese Puzzle DVD shelves he's been plotting whilst I waded through the washing.
Tonight it's too cold to be out in the shed so we'll get the widget for this blog sorted out so that it can pull weather information from the weather station that's now wired in properly. We missed data from the 1st of June - bloody station clagged up completely whilst all the mucking around was going on, still it's now reporting well and we can sit inside and decide if it's too bloody cold to go outside
