Tunnelling (House) Away - Stage 2

Well on the second Sunday it was plastic installation day - on the Saturday afternoon we spent a little while doing all the prep, so once we'd returned from the Farmers Market, had some lunch we got ourselves organised and stuck in.

Now it's hard to take pictures when you're actually in the work crew, but imagine if you would - one roll of plastic balanced on a long bit of PVC - Jude and I on either end (as we're about the same height). Jan stood on the smaller ladder just inside the hot house feeding the plastic up, and Adam balanced on the work benches in the middle of the house pulling the plastic along. Needless to say we were all hoping like hell that the wind stayed away for a little while - which it did. Once pulled end to end, it was a quick run up and down the sides with 2 people on either side to pull the plastic down to the ground. After that we rolled the sides around some quad and that was attached to the outside of the hardwood boards at the bottom - temporarily attached I might say as we think we'll probably have to restretch the sides a bit once everything settles into place.

Once the plastic down the sides was down - the ends needed finishing (must remember not to put the doors on until we've done this next time!).

Door back on and we're starting to look like a real tunnel house!

Which if nothing else, could provide a nice place for a bit of a sit (although I think I'd better scrape up some better seats :D )

And here we are -ready for setup:
