Logistics, Logistics and blasted logistics (a date has been selected)

Well, for our sins, the truck has been booked for the 29th January and some very very kind friends have volunteered to help load up (we can't thank them enough!).

Alas, it still won't be over on that date. We won't be able to get everything in the truck and we've still got some dismantling / repairs and general tidying up to do around here (including more bloody painting!) before we can truly move on.

This weekend there will have to be a major push on finishing off the chook house (over which I confess I'm starting to hyperventilate). We have to build perches, adjust the nests so big chooks can fit in, enlarge the access point so a very big rooster can get in and out, sort out some ventilation (because it's very hot in there), clean it out, lay some nesting / under perch materials and then, if we have time, roll some wire out over the open side where the only constant shade is (if we don't get time we'll need to do that pretty quickly once we are in place).

We also still haven't finished packing up down here, and we've got to dismantle hot houses, fencing, drag wire, shedding, seats and various other things up the slopes and move all of them. Hopefully most of that will fit on the ute - even if we have to make multiple trips, otherwise it will be back to the truck rental place at some stage (oh and we have to pull my old car up out of the carport and get the recyclers in.)

The "current" plan is to move dogs and chooks up on the 28th, settle them down, and come back down on Monday morning to pick up the truck. We'll then start the driving backwards and forward from the new house to this one to move out the final piles of gardening (farming) equipment and goodness knows what else we're forgotten is here.
