|« Can you spell entrepreneur?||dotProject 2.1.4 Released! »|
The 2.1.5 version of dotProject has been released today. This version fixes a number of issues with table prefixing introduced in 2.1.4, and for those using table prefixing, the upgrade is a must.
There have also been some improvements to those in large organisations where staff turnover is an issue. These include being able to easily bulk transfer tasks from one user to another, and to have automated management of the visibility of contact information when users are inactivated.
The ProjectDesigner module has now been made a core module. This makes managing of large projects easier. You can access it from the System Admin -> Modules page.
Well, something is moving after all in DotProject. I was thinking to migrate to other systems not seeing any development.
Now, if you could only make a clearer permission system, it would be great.
I found this application the most useful being a Open Source.
Does the SMTP stuff work with the latest version [2.1.5]?
I have been looking for this feature from long.
Hello, I implemented this tool in our company and the work is ongoing. This is a great work. Thank you very much.
One of the issues I’m confronting now is that the department module is not still working. This will be great if you can continue developing more functionality (espeically regarding access groups for departments).
Congratulations! We’re using it in our company in Brazil and it’s great!
Thank you all very much for your good work and the continuing development of the project.
It would be nice to add a simple list-view for the calendar. You will provide a much better overview for some cases
I’m using it only for test due to some shortages when compared with 2.1.3. and some add-on modules (FlexGantt and Project Designer)
Is FlexGantt add-on module on yours plans to be included in the core as well?
Is there a demo für the new version available? The demo-site (www.dotproject.net/demo) is down for maintenance.
While installing dotproject 2.1.5 it is hanged in do_installdb.php at the following function:
$dbc = $db->Connect($dbhost,$dbuser,$dbpass);
I installed dotproject 2.1.5 on php5.3.6 and get huge warning message about;
Warning: date(): It is not safe to rely on the system’s timezone settings. You are *required* to use the date.timezone setting or the date_default_timezone_set() function. In case you used any of those methods and you are still getting this warning, you most likely misspelled the timezone identifier. We selected ‘Asia/Jakarta’ for ‘WIT/7.0/no DST’ instead in /var/www/dotproject/lib/PEAR/Date/TimeZone.php on line 7225
.. in every layer on every pages.
And that’s not happen when i install it using php5.2.x
how can i fix this?

Will the new version also be updated on fantastico. My provider hostpapa still has version 2.1.3
Thanx for this great tool. I use it since many years!
roland - fantastico have updated to 2.1.6 this week. You may need to check with your hosting provider if they can upgrade fantastico.
