First Batch of New Trees

One of the things that we've got to do is get moving on some proper fruit varieties. The little orchard that is here is a nice to have, but we need to increase the numbers - firstly because of variety and range of available fruit, and also to add some shade to some of the worst of the hot spots.

This is a selection of commercial varieties including almonds, nectarines, apricots, figs, persimmons, pomegranates, quinces and a cherry. The mulberries are still to come (need to track down a new white mulberry as well - to replace the one we left behind).

This weekend we planted out one of the oranges and a lemon in the orchard - the rest of them are to go into the beds around the back if the hardwood sleepers we ordered ever eventuate.
