Probably should have mentioned that they weren't traditional kings :)

My failing eyesight thanks you :) Same here - (without the parrots and their rather odd eating habits......)

GOOD GRIEF - I wasn't even vaguely close. Mind you, not what I would have expected, I was busily engaged in trying to find 3 kings of England that always got talked about as a trio.

You learn something new every single day :)

Hi
We have just finished a short blog that will save your eyesight.
Glorious winters day here. The parrots are feeding from their bowel and the first spring buds are almost ready to bloom.

Yes you are a contrary bunch! Still only a couple of despatches and we'll be back home again. So to speak.

We're a contrary bunch aren't we - lovely lovely photos of all the things you saw, and all we want to see is the Wellies!

Thanks for posting these reports Fiona - they are fantastic.

No hyperventilating - too many distractions! Gardening tools here, gardening gloves there, here a boot, there a book, everywhere more plants!!!! Not to mention photos to take. We wanted to ensure that we had a photo of anything and everything that was of the least bit of interest to us, or that we liked or admired, or wanted to reproduce some part of in our own garden.

And let's not forget, we were also lugging bags filled with boots (weighing over 2 kg), mugs, books etc.

I'm profoundly disappointed.

A whole day and NO MUSEUM. Andy must have been hyperventilating :>

And where is the photo of the wellington boots?

Hey Fiona - The British Museum is the only thing that you could lure me to England again for. I would love to go and spend a few days poking around.

Karen says your e-mail isn't working over there - so is good we can share your trip this way.

Say hi to your Andy from me - and the two of you have a great time.

By the way - a friend of mine from school lives at Cambden - you can see the lock from her front room - but the unit is far enough back for the noise to not affect her to much :)

Hi Sally - Karen's just shown us how to see comments on the blog and reply to them. We couldn't see that there were comments :) The British Museum is an absolute treasure trove isn't it? The free guided tours to various collections are a great introduction. We spent an entire day there, including two tours, one to the Ancient Greek collection and the other to the early Medieval England collection.

Earlier this year on the ABC there was a documentary series on the British Museum. Perhaps you saw it?

I'd love to live at Cambden. The canal's so picturesque. But I'm thinking the constant stream of tourists must really be inconvenient. Although it's a great place to pick up your latest leather outfit :)

British Museum? I'm deeply, deeply envious. Would love to spend a day or two in there.
